With a four day bank holiday weekend ahead of us, it feels like the whole county is waiting in eager anticipation of the Jubilee celebrations taking place to mark Her Majesty’s remarkable 70-year reign. Communities and businesses across North Devon are putting on a wide array of spectacular events to enjoy so whether it’s an exhibition, a picnic in the park, a parade or a classic street party, you’re guaranteed to have a fantastic day out to mark this truly historic weekend.

Jub-Ewe-Lee Half-Term Fun at the Big Sheep
The Jubilee celebrations at The Big Sheep kicked off with a bang on Saturday, and they have an action packed week planned to mark the occasion. Until the 4th of June guests can enjoy games, royal-themed sheep races, a fancy dress contest and more, culminating in a Jubilee Tea Party picnic that’s sure to be a spectacular finish to the week. The Big Sheep is a wonderful mix of farming education and family fun, making it a top pick for us. It’s sure to be busy though so don’t forget to book your tickets in advance!
RHS Rosemoor Jubilee Party Weekend
The gardens at Rosemoor are hosting a series of events over the course of the Jubilee weekend that are sure to be a great hit with anyone that loves live music. Starting Thursday the 2nd June with a live handpan drumming show from Darren Sturgess, celebrations continue with a performance from the Tano Taiko Drummers on the 3rd, the Appledore Town Band on the 4th and the Hatherleigh Town Band play out the weekend on the 5th. Set in the picturesque, award winning gardens it’s certain to be a great occasion.
Woolacombe Platinum Jubilee Celebrations
If you’re looking for a trip to the seaside, then you can’t get better than the award-winning beach at Woolacombe. Alongside the usual summer holiday lineup, Woolacombe is gearing up to host a Jubilee bash that will have something for everyone. Starting with a procession from neighbouring Mortehoe, guests will be able to enjoy live music, face painting, ‘wellie wanging’, a beachside barbecue and much more.
